Storeroom Clerk Job Summary: The storeroom clerk ensures that all deliveries are to Hotel specifications, are in accordance with Food and Beverage requisitions, purchase orders, storing, handling and issuing of stock. Issues stock to F&B outlets paying close attention to quantity & units of measure. Responsible for using FIFO to rotate stock.

Essential Functions: (Average Percent of Time)

  • 30% Check each item at delivery against invoice/packing slip, weighing, counting, verifying prices against specifications to verify accuracy of delivery. Notify supervisors when shipments arrive or if the shipments fail to arrive so that any discrepancies can be resolved. Properly stores and rotates all stock so that all items are fresh.
  • 30% Fills requisitions paying close attention to quantity, size/weight issued and advises supervisor of items that are low or out of stock so that they can be reordered.
  • 30% Delivers supplies throughout the hotel in a timely fashion. Ensures proper paperwork is issued and verifies delivery with the party accepting supplies.
  • 10% Assists in conducting month-end inventories, audits or recounts.
  • % Monitors and documents cooler and freezer temperatures to avoid spoilage.

Supportive Functions:

  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills, or special guest requests.
  • Participates in hotel/departmental meetings.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Knowledge of the appropriate stock levels for any given item kept in inventory and the amount of time the item will be fresh.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to track and receive specific volumes of deliveries.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to complete forms and inventories, read billings and invoices, and communicate with co-workers and purveyors.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 300 lbs. Goods must be moved one or more items at a time, depending on size and weight, at a continuous schedule.

Experience:

  • Experience in shipping and receiving is preferred.
  • Food & beverage and experience at a similar volume hotel preferred.

Other: Due to the seasonal and business nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules and hours to reflect the staffing needs of the hotel.
