Job Title: Electronic Technician - Project Defender

Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite)

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1st Shift)

Job Description:
The Electronic Technician will play a crucial role in supporting Project Defender by providing technical expertise in the development and testing of electro-mechanical devices and soft goods intended for clinical use. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting schematics, performing soldering and wiring tasks, ordering parts and components, and developing test methods and fixtures. Additionally, the Electronic Technician will execute testing for development and verification purposes, collect test data, and maintain a GLP-compliant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electrical engineering schematics accurately.
  • Perform soldering, wiring, and cable/connector construction tasks with precision.
  • Order parts and components from a Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure timely procurement.
  • Develop and implement test methods and fixtures for electro-mechanical devices.
  • Execute testing for development and verification purposes, ensuring accuracy and repeatability.
  • Collect and document test data in bench testing environments using DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators.
  • Maintain a GLP-compliant environment and adhere to standardized testing protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively within project teams and matrix organizations to achieve project goals.
  • Utilize MS Office suite of applications for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent vocational experience.
  • 5 or more years of related experience in a technical environment.
  • Ability to build and test electronic prototypes.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with standardized testing protocols and reporting.
  • Must be available to work onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity/experience with GLP environments.
  • Experience in regulated industries (medical device, aerospace, etc.).
  • Experience with test method development.
  • Experience working in project team settings or matrix organizations.
  • Experience with quoting new materials and components with suppliers.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in schematics interpretation.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems.
  • Soldering and wiring skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of applications.
