Service Technician

Bankston Motor Homes is hiring an RV Technician. The Service Technician is responsible for installation, fabrication, construction, and inspection on both interior and exterior of all types of RVs. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who would be able to diagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, or overhaul recreational vehicles including travel trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes.

Competitive wages based on experience.

Primarily a 5-day work week $40,000-$80,000 annually including a performance-based pay hybrid plan. An Hourly base pay with a billed hour incentive

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Installation, repair and maintenance of various accessories and components on all types for RVs
  1. Exterior components may include: roofs, siding, windows, doors, vents, awnings
  2. Interior components may include: floor coverings, cabinets, counters, plumbing systems, electrical systems, propane gas systems, batteries, generators and charging systems
• Repair and maintenance on appliances such as furnaces, refrigerators, water heaters, ranges, and air conditioners
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
• Inspect and replace damaged framework, or other structures and fixtures
• Maintaining and repairing trailer frames, undercarriages, and suspension

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior RV Dealership experience is desired.
• Mechanical, electrical and electronics aptitude; troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong carpentry skills
• Willingness to work towards becoming a RVIA Certified Tech, if not already
• Good customer service skills
• Reliable and strong work ethic
• Valid state-issued driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• Candidates for this position must have good general health and physical ability. Detailers are required to stand for up to 8 hours per shift and must be able to lift at least 25 pounds frequently. Bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling are required on a constant basis. Candidates must be able to maneuver in tight spaces, climb stairs, and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Must be able to work in wet cold environment. Must be willing to work in Adverse Weather Conditions, i.e. work is 50% outside, 50% inside so you will be subject to Heat/Cold, Sun/Wind.

Bankston Motor Homes is seeking a PDI Technician is responsible for ensuring new units delivered are free of manufacturing defects by conducting a full inspection prior to delivery to Customer. Full inspection includes full structural inspections underbelly to roof; interior and exterior.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliance inspection and maintenance to ensure that all are working properly as designed.
• Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements and document per established protocol.
• Ensure all final work product meets quality standards and is inspected by supervisor or designee.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Previous experience with basic RV operations including: 12v/110c electrical system, LP, RV refrigerator, AC, water heater, furnace freshwater system, holding tank system, electric and surge brakes preferred.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with attention to detail
• Ability to accurately diagnose and document any issues.
• Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain constructive and professional customer relationships.
• Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills are required.
• Must have valid state-issued driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) years of experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the physical ability to lift 50lbs, climb a ladder, work outdoors, and move at a fast pace without assistance.
