As Culinary Management Trainee at Wegmans, you will take part in a structured training program working hands-on in the kitchen with products and employees to strengthen your culinary skills and passion. With support from mentoring chefs, you will learn about Wegmans values, business measures and culinary techniques while gaining exposure to culinary and perishable departments. In your fourth and final learning block of the program, you will lead an area of Restaurant Foods. Successful program completion will result in placement as a Sous Chef.

What will I do?

  • Learn and work under the mentorship of Wegmans Chefs, practicing and mastering various culinary areas
  • Inspire our customers to prepare products successfully at home by offering meal suggestions, food pairings, and cooking techniques
  • Oversee the Restaurant Foods operation to drive sales, share the company vision with employees and supervise the team to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure products are prepared with consistency, high-quality and are eye-appealing to our customers using Wegmans extensive library of recipes and techniques
  • Create excitement and educate others about new programs at Wegmans

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Lead Cook or equivalent supervisory experience
  • Culinary experience
  • As part of the interview process, you will be required to complete a cook test based on a prescribed menu

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with a multi-faceted food service facility
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts
