WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR


Check-Mate Manufacturing has an opening for a Warehouse Supervisor. This position is responsible for the operation of an assigned area in terms of shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety, and human resources with defined goals. Responsible for day-to-day management of people within production, to ensure company’s targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. Strives to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSIncludes, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for management and development of the material handling personnel through communicating expectations, training, and coaching to best practices.
  • Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for cost savings initiatives by utilizing best practices in logistics (IE-problem solving, automation introduction, proper inventory management, carrier negotiations)
  • Warehouse Supervisor liaises and coordinates with support functions to progress issues concerning warehouse planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure shipping, receiving and inventory control are maintained within all relevant quality specifications.
  • Warehouse Supervisor ensures that Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are monitored and targets achieved.
  • Warehouse Supervisor communicates with teams by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with a focus on quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvements.
  • Warehouse Supervisor drives performance of team members giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
  • Warehouse Supervisor ensures safe working practices are maintained and “Standard Operations” are adhered to.
  • Warehouse Supervisor motivates the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
  • Supervises and control resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements.
  • Warehouse Supervisor monitors and maintains employee absences in the HRIS system.
  • Warehouse Supervisor deals with personnel issues on shift and takes appropriate action via corrective actions, performance improvements and/or performance reviews.
  • Trains material handlers and forklift drivers are trained on products and processes.
  • Conducts incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
  • Warehouse Supervisor monitors team performance by completing annual performance reviews.
  • Warehouse Supervisor provides product expertise within the team and responds to vendor queries.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A.S. or B.S. Degree in business, management or another related field
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in people management
  • 3-5 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory control experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in continuous process improvement, process management and Lean principles
  • 1-3 years of experience in safety, human resource management, production and quality
  • Ability to manage complex project assignment priorities
  • Experience with ERP and HRIS Systems a plus
