Overall, jobs are down 11% week over week, down 8% month over month, and up 4% since early March.
New applications for unemployment benefits last week hit a three-month high—the latest sign that the labor market recovery is stalling. As we head into the holidays and winter months, we’re seeing just how closely physical health is connected to the economy in the COVID-19 crisis.
Jobs and workers seeking jobs will continue to return in time as vaccine distribution brings with it a clear line of sight to the other side of the pandemic.

Here are the latest job numbers by industry:

Quick service restaurant (QSR) jobs are flat week over week, flat month over month and down 28% since early March.

Sit-down restaurant jobs are flat week over week, flat month over month and down 47% since early March.

Warehouse and logistics jobs are up 83% week over week, down 165% month over month and up 292% since early March.

Retail jobs are down 1% week over week, down 3% month over month and down 16% since early March.

Grocery jobs are flat week over week, down 22% month over month and up 41% since early March.

Hospitality jobs are down 18% week over week, down 35% month over month and down 22% since early March.

On demand jobs are down 33% week over week, down 27% month over month and up 36% since early March.

Convenience store jobs are down 11% week over week, up 3% month over month and down 15% since early March.

Healthcare jobs are down 2% week over week, down 3% month over month and up 33% since early March.

Detroit, MI: Retail jobs are down 18% week over week, down 1% since early March. Grocery jobs are down 6% week over week, up 11% since early March. On demand jobs are down 9% week over week, up 42% since early March.
Houston, TX: Hospitality jobs are down 7% week over week, down 37% since early March. On demand jobs are up 51% week over week, up 128% since early March. Sit-down restaurant jobs are down 1% week over week, down 49% since early March.
Philadelphia, PA: Grocery jobs are down 9% week over week, up 219% since early March. Logistics/Warehouse jobs are up 3% week over week, up 1323% since early March. Retail jobs are up 2% week over week, down 19% since early March.
Seattle, WA: QSR jobs are down 1% week over week, down 31% since early March. On demand jobs are down 12% week over week, down 8% since early March. Hospitality jobs are down 2% week over week, down 22% since early March.
Workers
Google searches for part-time jobs are down 10% week over week, down 5% month over month and down 13% since early March.
