Workers are noticing big changes since 2019

Darrell is Snagajob’s Manager of Content & Copywriting, where he enjoys writing and editing advice that helps workers and businesses align and succeed. His first hourly job was totally chill, bagging ice at an ice cube f-f-f-factory.

The great reshuffle is leveling the playing field, plus improved finances and a new outlook on work/life has hourly job seekers leveling up their careers.

To find out what they’re noticing in job opportunities circa 2022, we surveyed nearly 3,000 hourly workers. When asking them what has changed most for hourly workers since the pandemic, and here’s what they said:

51% - I’m finding more flexibility in work schedules

51% - I’m finding higher pay rates

45% - I’m finding improved working conditions/health standards

What can you do to capitalize on these changes?

1. Move quickly to raise your pay rate.

See what your competition is offering and raise the stakes. By offering more, you’ll stand out and get applications.

2. Follow up with additional benefits and perks.

Workers today are going to be enticed by a full range of offerings, from flexible schedules and health insurance to growth opportunities, tuition reimbursement, childcare assistance, paid time off, company discounts, and more.
