Overview:

The Senior Director will serve as the primary point of contact to Acosta clients. Coordinate strategic development, creative development, and tactical execution for client’s brand(s). Facilitate the communication, presentation and creation of promotional campaigns that meet client’s sales and marketing objectives. Seek to find available funding through brand or trade in order to drive consumer initiatives that deliver mutually beneficial results for our clients and Acosta.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively define new and innovative opportunities to maximize client volume, profitability and brand equity.
  • Assist in development, analysis, and implementation of client’s sales and marketing objectives. A key success factor will be building strong relationships with Client marketing functions and appropriate sales and headquarter functions.
  • Work with Acosta business units to deliver seamless, cross-business service offerings to clients.
  • Understand the Client sales and marketing strategies, and provide proactive diagnosis and recommendations where opportunity exists.
  • Build and enhance national programs that leverage Acosta’s client and customer portfolio.
  • Responsible for managing, influencing, and expanding client relationships (market, channel and services whitespace)
  • Leverage Acosta’s extensive resources to influence and develop strategies to address defined opportunities, scope and manage solutions that have a significant impact on our clients’ success.
  • Work on special projects as requested by Acosta senior leadership.
  • May travel up to 30% of time.
  • Monitor results against sales volume and performance objectives for local business managers and provide corrective action as required.
  • Maximize all Bonus Brokerage opportunities for Acosta
  • Know when to engage leadership and/or EVP’s in business related issues.
  • Utilize common systems to communicate information.
  • Share best practices.
  • Support sales plan against Client that will ensure the delivery of all business objectives.
  • Coordinate customer needs with Director of Category Management and/or Senior Business Insights Managers. This includes: Scorecards, key category, brand and account information
    Monitor/resolve monthly expense issues that may impact cash flow.
  • Build relationships with customer and clients. This includes visits to headquarters and participation in Business Planning meetings.
  • Communication and coordinate all customer initiatives with Retail Geography Operations.
  • Assist in the development and presenting to operating units.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ten or more year’s consumer packaged goods industry experience (sales or marketing), one or more years of Acosta Leadership.
  • Places high priority on Customer needs and concerns; calls attention to issues that impact customer satisfaction; views things from the perspective of the customer.

  • Expresses ideas and information in a clear and concise manner; messages are both complete and succinct. Focuses on critical information and leaves out irrelevant or unnecessary details; provides effective responses to questions.
  • Tailors message to fit the interests and needs of the audience; focuses on relevant topics; uses vocabulary and terminology appropriate given the background of the audience.
  • Establishes methods to continuously monitor and improve the performance of systems and processes; creates and utilizes metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Emphasizes the use of standardized work methods that support incremental, ongoing improvements; examines past practices and results in order to learn from experience
