The Nursing Director has 24-hour accountability and responsibility for one or more units. He/she is the vital link between the annual operating plan, strategic initiatives, and the point of inpatient care. He/she is responsible for creating a healthy work environment which reflects a safe, supportive, and professional environment that supports the work of the nursing services team members. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Director is delegated 24 hour responsibility, accountability and authority to assist in the management of the resources of the Critical Care Center, in accordance with the department and organizational goals and objectives.This individual is influential in fostering a culture where interdisciplinary team members contribute to optimal patient outcomes.
